Why Doesn’t The Bible Mention Islam?
Q. Given that Ishmael was a son of Abraham, God promised that he, also, would be great. Yet, there is no mention in prophecy of the rise of Islam, growing from the people of Ishmael, and becoming the worlds greatest religion, second only to Christianity; and destined to become the world’s largest religion after the Rapture of the Church. Why is that?
A. God promised that Ishmael would have 12 sons with many descendants and become a great nation (Genesis 17:20). The Hebrew word great refers to their number. This prophecy came true long before the religion of Islam was born. With the exceptions of Judaism and Christianity, the Bible doesn’t mention any of the numerically great religions of today. I think He’s trying to tell us something.
“This is what the LORD says— Israel’s King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God (Isaiah 44:6).
